ASHAs show the way - caring for the mental health of communities starts with self-care

NEW DELHI, FEB 18. Anita (name changed), an accredited social health activist from a village in Haryana, was one among several frontline health workers who received training on understanding and diagnosing common mental disorders in the community from a team of mental health professionals working at The George Institute for Global Health (India). During the training, she was able to recognize symptoms of anxiety and depression within herself.
