In Viet Nam, low-cost water safety actions help reduce child drowning deaths
Every drowning is preventable. Globally, however, hundreds of thousands of people lose their lives by drowning every year. In 2019, one in three of the world’s drowning deaths occurred in the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Western Pacific Region. Twenty per cent of these deaths were children under the age of 15.
