Child Rights Flyers

The United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of the Child clearly states all children with special health requirements have a right to the care needed to enable them to live the healthiest and most fulfilling life possible. Despite this, the sad reality is that in resource-poor countries any child with any non-communicable disease (NCD) or other chronic health condition is susceptible to entirely preventable disability and death.

CLAN (Caring & Living As Neighbours) is committed to helping children, young people and their families in resource poor settings who are living with NCDs to learn more about their basic human rights to life and health. We acknowledge the urgent need to raise awareness of the collective responsibilities we all share to promote and protect the rights of every child to achieve their full potential in life.

To this end, CLAN has been working with partners from around the world to develop a series of Child-Friendly Rights Flyers, relevant to a range of childhood NCDs in different languages, that can support efforts to raise awareness and advocate for equitable health outcomes. Included are flyers for:

  • Childhood cancer (English)
  • Type 1 diabetes (English, French, Spanish)
  • Rheumatic Heart Disease (English, Swahili)
  • Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (English, Indonesian, Spanish) and
  • Asthma (English).
