Since 2004, more than 5 million people have joined WDF’s campaign on World Diabetes Day. They have walked through villages, suburbs and metropolises worldwide, spreading awareness about diabetes prevention and care. This year, large gatherings are not possible in many places because of COVID-19. Yet the campaign's message - Take Steps to Prevent Diabetes - is more important than ever. Regular exercise helps keep blood sugar levels stable, reduces the risk of developing chronic diseases, and makes all bodily functions work better, including immunity. This year, we will be walking all November to mark World Diabetes Day on Nov 14.
