Implementing the WHO Indicators for Assessing Palliative Care Development in Three Countries: A Do-It-Yourself Approach

This article shows how 3 countries applied the indicators from the WHO's conceptual model of palliative care development independently using a practical, step-by-step method. It highlights the feasibility and value of a locally driven approach to mapping and measuring palliative care progress, enabling countries to identify gaps and set priorities for improvement. The study demonstrates that with guidance and collaboration, national teams can successfully conduct their own assessments to inform policy and service development.
