New WHO-SEARO report on chronic respiratory diseases in South-East Asia

A new report by the WHO Regional Office for South-East Asia presents the latest evidence on the burden, risk factors, and health system responses to chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs) across the Region. It highlights that CRDs, including asthma and COPD, account for a significant share of deaths, driven by air pollution, tobacco use, and occupational exposures. The publication outlines practical actions to strengthen prevention and management of CRDs through primary health care and universal health coverage.
