The Paediatric Drug Optimization (PADO) Exercise for Childhood Cancer Medicines is a strategic initiative aimed at improving access to quality-assured, child-friendly formulations of essential childhood cancer medicines. This effort supports the research component of the E pillar of the CureAll Framework promoting research and innovation. This effort seeks to address critical gaps in the availability and suitability of cancer treatments for children, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

The PADO for childhood cancer medicines enhances efforts to overcome barriers to medicine access in LMICs, promotes market stability for paediatric formulations, and supports the development of safe, effective, and age-appropriate cancer treatments—contributing to the GICC goal of improving survival rates and reducing suffering for children with cancer.
