Strengthening synergy between primary healthcare providers and communities for prevention and control of diabetes and hypertension in Vietnam

The policy brief of the consortium scaling up up NCD interventions in Southeast Asia describes the work done in Vietnam. Community organisations were strengthened to perform screening of NCD risk factors, to organise health promotion activities. Staff of primary healthcare facilities were capacitated to diagnose and treat NCDs. Local authorities were engaged in planning and management of interventions. In the brief achievements and challenges are shared, and recommendations for stakeholders made.
